St. Nikolai’s idyllic location in Styria

In the middle of Sölktäler Nature Park in Schladming’s Tauern mountains

The vicarage is situated in the middle of St. Nikolai village in Sölktäler Nature Park. As a side valley to the Ennstal, the Kleinsölktal that runs southwest from Großsölk and the southeasterly Großsölktal stretch across the Schladming Tauern mountains. The village of St. Nikolai is part of the Großsölktal and houses roughly 500 inhabitants.

39 kilometres away from the World Cup venue Schladming, St. Nikolai is part of the popular Schladming-Dachstein alpine holiday region. Enjoy the peace and quiet of a small village and sedate nature during a holiday in St. Nikolai.

Winter in the Sölktal and Ennstal valleys

You can reach the Schladming-Dachstein ski region where 230 km of slopes invite you to ski and snowboard just 30 minutes away from St. Nikolai. Cross-country skiers and tourers can find a paradise with a vast network of trails and numerous tour options in the nature park. The sedate landscape is also superb for relaxing winter and snowshoe hikes and walks.

St. Nikolai is the ideal starting point for wonderful hikes and mountain climbing in the summer. Hiking trails start right on your holiday home’s doorstep. Schwarzensee, the largest lake in the Schladming Tauern mountains, is situated nearby. How rich the Sölktal is in waterfalls and streams is already proved by its name: “Sölk” originally meant “flowing water”.
