Relaxation in a former monastery
Holiday for body and soul
Embedded in the gentle hilly landscape of Southeast Styria, the vicarage is located in the centre of the village Tieschen. The former Franciscan monastery is the ideal haven for a timeout from hectic everyday life. Here the soul can breathe deeply for a change. But creature comforts are also provided: in the "Buschenschänken"(wine taverns) typical of the region you can enjoy specialities from Styria. Thermal resorts in Bad Radkersburg and Bad Gleichenberg ensure physical relaxation.
Former inhabitants: the Franciscans
The house has existed since the end of the 19th century. Built in former times as a small Franciscan monastery, today it still accommodates the Tieschen vicarage on the ground floor. Learn more about the history of the house - the walls of the vicarage would have quite a bit to tell you!
Lots of room for rest and relaxation
After a cautious conversion and renovation of the house, four apartments on the upper floor have been available to you since the end of May 2015 for a timeout in Thermenland Styria. As in the apartments at the Pichl vicarage in Upper Styria, considerable attention was also paid to natural materials and a pleasant living atmosphere here. The canopy beds which partially feature surprising workmanship are a central element of all apartments. A special highlight is the apartment “Holy Trinity” that enables a direct view of the altar of the adjacent church from the living room.
But the other three apartments also have their own charm. For instance, the apartment “Tau” is the ideal place for a timeout alone or in cosy togetherness. In the apartment “Franziskus” you will have a beautiful view of the statue of St. Francis and can look from the hill down into the centre of the village. Up to 4 people can comfortably enjoy the on-site tranquillity in the apartment “Bread & Wine”.
Indulgence programme for the body
Out of the six thermal resorts which give the region its name, two are only about 15 minutes away by car. Parktherme Bad Radkersburg and “Therme der Ruhe” in Bad Gleichenberg offer you the opportunity to also do something good for your body and to let the thermal water from the depths of the earth take effect. With a stay of 3 nights or more you will receive a day admission to the Bad Gleichenberg thermal resort or a 3-hour card free of charge!
And particularly in the culinary field you do not get the short end of the stick here: visit a wine tavern that will serve you Styrian delicacies. Try the excellent wines which obtain a special note due to the favourable climate. Or let yourself in for a special culinary experience in one of the two award-winning restaurants in the surrounding area.
